Mariah Amani Buckles, known professionally as Mariah the Scientist, was born on October 27, 1997 in Atlanta, Georgia. The singer-songwriter then moved to New York City as a St. John’s University biology student (hence “the Scientist”), 24-year-old R&B singer Mariah the Scientist has always followed her heart. After making a few songs as a Valentine’s Day gift for her then-boyfriend in 2017, Mariah realized her calling as a singer, and dropped out of school the following year, after releasing her debut EP on SoundCloud, To Die For. She signed to RCA Records in early 2019, released her solo album, Master, and never looked back. Master, her major-label debut led by the melancholy ballad “Beetlejuice,” a song so personal that the listener feels special by being made privy to the intel she reveals. Mariah’s superpower is in the intricacies of how she writes this love story. Mariah has continued to strengthen her skill since her debut. Her second project RY RY WORLD was completed two years before the official release, the former science major kept tweaking it for precision.
